Privacy policy
We are a two-bedroom house in Mudgee, not a data company. We collect what we need to take your booking and nothing else.
This policy explains how The Landscapers Rest, 20 Bumberra Place, Bombira NSW 2850 ("we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the phone number, guest numbers, dates and message you choose to give us.
When you make a booking through the booking calendar, we collect your name, email address and, if you provide them, your phone number and postal address, along with your dates, the number of guests and your chosen payment method.
We do not run advertising trackers or analytics on this site, and we do not collect payment card details. Payment is by bank transfer, so the money moves between your bank and ours without passing through this website.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry.
- To take, confirm and manage your booking, including sending you arrival directions and the lockbox code.
- To contact you about your stay, before, during or shortly after it.
- To meet our record-keeping and tax obligations.
We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to.
Who it is shared with
We use a small number of service providers to run this website and our bookings. They only receive what they need to provide their service.
- Smoobu (Smoobu GmbH, Germany) runs our booking calendar and stores booking and guest details. Their privacy policy is at smoobu.com/en/privacy-policy.
- Netlify (Netlify Inc, USA) hosts this website and receives enquiry form submissions.
- Google serves the fonts used on this site, and the map on our Explore Mudgee page is a Google Maps embed. Loading those means your browser contacts Google and Google may see your IP address.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the European Union and the United States. We otherwise only disclose your information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as we need them to answer you. We keep booking records for as long as our tax and record-keeping obligations require, and then delete them.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The booking calendar may set cookies that are strictly necessary to keep your booking session working while you use it.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep what we collect to a minimum, which is the best protection there is.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email thelandscapersrest@hotmail.com and we will come back to you. There is no charge for asking.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we have a chance to fix it. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date at the top.
